At its core is The Actor Studio: a dedicated space where actors sharpen their skills, coached directly by actress and director Merete Van Kamp. Audition preparation. Accent reduction. Character building. The tools that separate a good performance from an unforgettable one.
But the Actor Universe goes beyond technique. Merete Van Kamp designs affirmations directly onto T-shirts, hoodies, and everyday objects — wearable expressions of the mood of a moment, the feeling of a scene, the mindset of a performer stepping into their power. The Studio Journal is our editorial space — tutorials, technique breakdowns, mindset tools, and behind-the-scenes perspectives from inside the studio. It exists because the conversation around craft deserves more than social media can hold.
The Work Behind the Work
Le Van Kamp Studio is a one-woman operation.
Merete Van Kamp writes, directs, designs, creates, and builds — alone. Every collection, every article, every affirmation on every T-shirt comes from one person who has spent years working across film, television, and stage as a performer, a writer, and a director.
The Studio grew out of that experience: the need for objects and tools that match the seriousness of the work, and a space to share what she has learned along the way. There is no team behind the curtain. Just the work, and the conviction that actors deserve better than what the mainstream offers them.
The Studio is based in Paris, France. Everything is designed with intention. Nothing is made by accident.
